1,200 females support Run for Girls

The second Run for Girls co-organised by Plan International Hong Kong and women’s magazine Cosmopolitan was successfully held on 29 April. Near 1,200 females signed up for the 10.11Km or 3Km race to fight for girls’ rights and justice.

Plan International Hong Kong – City University of Hong Kong Youth Conference 2018: Fight for Girl’s Justice

‘Youth Conference 2018’, with the theme ‘Fight for Girls’ Rights’ will continue to encourage and inspire young people to speak out in support of girls’ rights and to nurture global citizenship. By providing support to more girls, they will be free from violence and can get the education, skills and support they need to become powerful forces for change in their communities. Youth Conference 2018 will also include a new ‘University Section’ with participants from the Department of Asian and International Studies of City University of Hong Kong.

Run For Girls’ Rights

Run For Girls is a female charity run co-organized by Plan International Hong Kong and Cosmopolitan with the aim of fighting for and promoting girls’ rights and justice, protecting girls in developing countries from discrimination, inequality and violence.

The 5th “Because I Am a Girl– Donate a Pencil” Campaign Held with Success

The 5th “Because I Am a Girl– Donate a Pencil” campaign was successfully held from 10 Oct – 22 Oct at 4 venues, Plaza Hollywood, Diamond Hill, Lee Theatre, Causeway Bay, Telford Plaza 1, Kowloon Bay and Mega Mall Zone D, Tai Po. Thanks to the public’s generous support, 31,544 pencils were collected and HK$ 440,000 was raised. The pencils will be sent to children in Vietnam and Hong Kong via Silver Stationery Shop, and the funds will be used to support our girls’ work in Vietnam.

Interview Held for “Because I am a Girl – Be a Change-maker 2018” 7-day Indonesia Exposure Trip

With the great support from schools and students, we received many applications and launched the selection process right after the application deadline. As space is limited for the 7-day Indonesia Exposure Trip, group interviews were organized on 7 Oct 2017 (Sat) and 12 Oct 2017 (Tue).

The 5th “Because I Am a Girl – Donate a Pencil” Campaign Will Be Held in October

In order to support girls’ education, Plan International Hong Kong will organize the 5th “Because I am a Girl – Donate a Pencil” campaign.

Nearly 60 Students Speak About Girls’ Rights in the 3rd “Plan International Hong Kong Youth Conference”

In cooperation with the Department of Asian and International Studies of City University of Hong Kong, Plan International Hong Kong has organized “Plan International Hong Kong Youth Conference” since 2015. The conference provides a chance for students to study and discuss girls’ issues, so as to encourage them to speak about girls’ rights and nurture a sense of global citizenship. Such initiatives will contribute to the efforts in freeing more girls from violence and helping them get the education, skills and support they need, ultimately creating powerful forces for change in their communities.

Because I am a Girl ─ Be a Change-maker 2018

Plan International is one of the world’s leading development organisations specifically focusing on children, We strive for a just world that advances children’s rights and equality for girls. Plan International Hong Kong Youth Conference 2017 – JUSTICE: Because I am a Girl

Plan International Hong Kong has organized ‘Plan International Hong Kong Youth Conference’ since 2015 with the Department of Asian and International Studies of City University of Hong Kong for local young people to meet, reflect and exchange ideas on international issues, especially girls’ situations in low income countries.

1,000 Female Participated in “Run For Girls”

Millions of girls worldwide, with the majority of them living in developing countries, are often exposed to risks like child marriage, early pregnancy and sexual violence. Each year, around 17.4 million girls are forced into early marriage, which equals to 1 in every 2 seconds. To fight for and promote girls’ rights and justice, Plan International Hong Kong and women’s magazine Cosmopolitan co-organised the first “Run For Girls” charity run on 9th April 2017. Nearly 1,000 female enrolled in 10.11Km or 3Km run.
